When Can I Walk on My Clean Carpeting?
Why is summer a good time to clean carpets? Many summer days offer low humidity and breezy weather, which is best for drying carpets. Summer also offers a choice of opening windows or possibly using air conditioning for good air circulation and dryer environment on humid days.
How long do I have to wait? With our water extraction process, we remove about 97% of the water used while we clean. Most carpets dry thoroughly within 12-24 hours following cleaning, however you can usually walk on freshly cleaned carpeting (wearing clean socks) within a few hours.
Do stain treatments increase dry times? No. While adding spot and stain, or odor treatments may slightly increase the amount of time it takes us to complete our work, these services do not change your drying time.
What if one area of the home or property is not drying as quickly as we'd like? Upper levels of homes typically dry faster than basements. If this happens, it may be due to lower air circulation. TIP: Add a fan to the room to increase air circulation and aid the drying process.
Does carpet cleaning or drying affect those with allergies? Not at all. In fact, carpet cleaning is of particular benefit to those with allergies. Our steam cleaning process is antiseptic: water is heated to 210 degrees, and will kill dust mites, allergens and dander trapped in your carpeting or area rugs.
